Tonight was a night we’ll never forget at Pathways Social Club.

Our friend Lane hit his very first grand slam, and the excitement was absolutely contagious! The smile on his face said it all as he couldn’t wait to tell everyone about the biggest hit of his softball career.

But this story isn’t really about a grand slam.

It’s about courage.

When Lane first joined Sports 4 Exceptional Athletes, he was incredibly nervous about playing sports. Like many people trying something new, stepping onto the field felt intimidating. Last season, those nerves became overwhelming, and he made the difficult decision to step away before the season was over.

This year, though, he came back.

He chose to give himself another chance—and what a difference a year can make.

With the encouragement of his teammates, the welcoming community at Sports 4 Exceptional Athletes, and the support of his newest buddy and coach, Donald C., Lane has truly found his confidence. Whether he’s making plays in the field or stepping up to the plate, he’s embracing every opportunity and rising to the challenge.

Watching his confidence grow week after week has been one of our favorite things to witness.

Tonight, all of that hard work, perseverance, and self-belief came together in one unforgettable moment: his first grand slam.

We couldn’t be prouder of you, Lane.

Thank you to Sports 4 Exceptional Athletes for creating a place where athletes of all abilities can build friendships, discover confidence, and experience the joy of being part of a team. The impact goes far beyond the scoreboard.

Congratulations, Lane! Here’s to many more amazing moments on and off the field. We’re cheering for you every step of the way! 💙⚾
